MARIAN DUNN

Luminosity is the greatest goal in the work of Marian Dunn, no matter in what media. She is well known for her luminous watercolors and currently is much enjoying working with acrylic and oil. Individual paintings might show her responses to impressions of an object's contour; a single figure; people at work or at play; the interplay of light and shadow on an object, in a landscape or a still life. Being a colorist, her work is often high-key and cheerful. Being an impressionist her paintings, while essentially representative, are approached from an abstract perspective.
Deamer's mother, Marian Dunn, has been a professional painter for over four decades. Her paintings and sketch books record the observations of a thoughtful, intelligent artist reflecting on life around the world. Her home base is Salt Lake City; however, she has a special love for Monterey County. Although she travels and teaches art workshops and seminars world wide, she spends as much time here as possible.
